Case study: Onet Cleaning and Associated Services x Eurotunnel Getlink - A unique duo for an exceptional trip

For several years, Onet Propreté & Services has been supporting Eurotunnel in the day-to-day management of its infrastructure, which is unique in Europe. Every day, Eurotunnel welcomes thousands of passengers and heavy goods vehicles. This represents up to 4 departures per hour for tourism and 6 departures for freight, ensuring the smooth flow of cross-Channel traffic. Since its opening, Eurotunnel has carried over 500 million passengers and 35 million freight trucks.

Cleanliness is part of customer excellence. Passenger and freight customers alike must be able to cross the Channel in the cleanest possible conditions.

Onet Propreté & Services: a key partner for Eurotunnel

Onet Propreté & Services Calais, managed locally by Sébastien Veilleroy, plays a central role on the Eurotunnel site. "We have 200 employees on permanent contracts and around 30 on fixed-term contracts," he explains, illustrating the scope of this collaboration.

Services provided on the Eurotunnel site include :

  • Cleanliness of premises
  • Mail management
  • Setting and shifting trucks on freight trains
  • Waste collection
  • Minor maintenance
  • Shuttle cleaning
  • Safety checks on freight trucks
  • Managing customs formalities

A unique site with special requirements

The Eurotunnel Calais site covers over 650 hectares and employs 2,500 people, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The challenge for Onet Propreté & Services is to maintain a high level of cleanliness without disrupting terminal operations. As Yann Agneray explains, "Onet works in close collaboration with Eurotunnel teams to ensure a level of excellence in cleanliness, without altering the fluidity of operations".

This commitment to excellence extends to ancillary services such as the control of freight trucks, a highly secure activity. Thanks to its collaborative approach, Onet has established itself as a reliable and flexible partner, meeting our customer's exacting requirements.

Responsiveness and adaptability: the keys to success

Working on a site as vast as Eurotunnel requires great adaptability. "It's a special kind of logistics, and you have to adapt down to the minute," emphasizes Sébastien Veilleroy. Whether for urgent interventions or planned operations, Onet must constantly adjust its teams to meet immediate needs.

It's a special kind of logistics, and you have to adapt down to the minute, you have to be hyper-reactive.

This responsiveness is crucial when thousands of passengers and trucks are in transit every day. Our teams ensure impeccable cleanliness, while respecting the site's safety constraints and without disrupting the flow of operations.
