Onet Technologies reaches a major milestone in the nuclear decommissioning process at Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux A with the successful completion of milestone J2.

The Onet Technologies teams have reached a strategic milestone at the Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux A site: the achievement of milestone J2.

This industrial success, achieved in close collaboration with EDF DP2D, once again demonstrates our teams' ability to carry out complex operations in highly constrained environments.

Milestone J2: astrategic lock for dismantling

Milestone J2 is a critical stage in the decommissioning program around the storage pool of Unit 6. Its main objective was to clear the MEC (Mise En Configuration) cell, an essential operation to enable deconstruction work to continue under optimal conditions.

This project was carried out according to a particularly tight schedule, requiring constant responsiveness and perfect mastery of business interfaces.

A major technical and environmental challenge

Completing J2 was not simply a matter of dismantling equipment. The teams had to operate in an environment characterized by multiple exposures to risks, requiring exemplary discipline:

  • Radiological risks (particularly ALPHA).
  • Exposure to CMR agents (asbestos and lead).
  • Complex operations: working at height, mechanical handling, and operations in confined spaces.
  • Fluid and network management: electrical lockouts and cutting of specific tools.

From a technical standpoint, the performance is reflected in impressive figures. In particular, the teams erected 15 scaffolds, representing 156 linear meters, and cut 5 km of electrical cables into 80 cm sections, representing approximately 400,000 precision cuts.

The strength of the team: 25 employees working together

The success of milestone J2 depends above all on exemplary team cohesion and the mobilization of 25 employees from a wide range of specialized fields:

  • Field operations personnel: scaffolders, dismantlers, maintenance workers, electricians, and nuclear waste technicians.
  • Safety experts: radiation protection specialists and Q3SER managers.
  • Support and management: logisticians, method planners, project managers, and architects.

This synergy, coupled with a genuine industrial partnership with EDF DP2D, ensured smooth communication and rigorous monitoring throughout the entire venture.

A long-term commitment to nuclear performance

By successfully completing this milestone, Onet Technologies reaffirms its role as a leading player in the life cycle of nuclear facilities. This achievement at Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux A, marked by controlled execution and the unwavering commitment of the teams, paves the way for the next stages of decommissioning.

Congratulations to all the teams involved in this industrial achievement, as well as to EDF for its trust.
