This activity is strictly governed by current regulations, and is subject to prior declaration to the CNAPS.
When should a dog detection team be called in?
- Preventive inspection of parcels, luggage or vehicles
- Inspection of areas or buildings before opening to the public
- Securing logistics flows at industrial or port sites
- Enhanced surveillance in Vigipirate environments or during sensitive events
Detector dogs are only authorized to detect explosive materials, not other substances. Agents dedicated to this mission are not allowed to perform other security acts, such as palpation, visual inspection or screening.

Each dog-handler follows a compulsory monthly training program with his or her dog , lasting a minimum of 4 hours. These sessions help maintain a high level of competence and reactivity in real-life situations.
The results are rigorously recorded in a dedicated training logbook, guaranteeing the traceability and compliance of each operational pair.
