Fire safety: the decisive role of private security guards

Rigorously selected and trained, they effectively meet all the requirements of the job. In the event of a problem, they are able to take all the necessary emergency and warning measures, direct the emergency services and, if necessary, supervise the evacuation of users.

Their actions optimize the rescue chain and limit the impact of disasters.

On the ground day and night to ensure the safety of people and property, their discreet and active presence makes them an indispensable part of the security chain.

An agent Onet Security prevents the famous Passage Pommeraye from bursting into flames

On October 10, a fire broke out at around 5 p.m. in a stairwell of the Passage Pommeray, a historic monument in downtown Nantes.

Demonstrating his composure and responsiveness in an emergency situation, Onet security agent T. Assani, stationed in a store in the shopping mall, immediately alerted the emergency services and intervened effectively to limit the spread of the flames.

Some forty firefighters were then mobilized to contain and extinguish the blaze. 

Mobilizing new talent in safety

T.Assani was recruited in February 2019 by the Onet Security Solutions Humaines agency in Nantes on a 6-month professionalization contract.

The security professionalization contract, which takes the form of a fixed-term contract, enables trainees to acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to work in the private security sector.

T. Assani already held a professional card issued by the CNAPS (mandatory to work in the security sector), and joined Onet's teams to train as a Fire Safety and Personal Assistance Service agent.

Validating his SSIAP 1 diploma at the end of his 6-month training course, T. Assani was hired on a permanent contract within the agency to work in fire safety.

" Naturally cheerful and always available for the agency's operations department, T. Assani quickly integrated into the teams. Today, he fits right in," emphasizes Nicolas Renaux, Branch Manager.

Focus on the Passage Pommeraye

The Passage Pommeraye is a shopping mall in downtown Nantes, spread over three levels distributed by a central staircase. Built from the end of 1840, it is considered one of the most beautiful covered passageways in Europe and is one of the city's historic attractions. This 19th-century architectural masterpiece is a listed historic monument.
