Flamanville and Paluel mixers on track!

Since March 2021, Onet Technologies has been working with its partner Frégate to replace the mixers at all the Flamanville and Paluel units.

Flamanville and Paluel mixers on track! What is Les Malaxeurs?

When the filters in the primary circuit become clogged, they fall into a shell into which concrete is poured to make them less irradiating. The mixers act as the plant's "concrete mixers", mixing the concrete and allowing it to flow into the hermetically sealed shell. The full shells are then sent as waste to Andra.

Why change mixers?

Following a change in regulations introduced by Andra, the plants have to use a new concrete formulation. As a result, it is necessary to change the mixer system, as it no longer operates in the same way.

And what about Onet Technologies?

This project is being carried out in a consortium with Frégate, which is designing the new mixers. Onet Technologies (DISR) is involved in design and site management.

Onet Technologies' 3 operational departments had the opportunity to work on this project: the Dismantling Department to dismantle the old mixers, and the Operations Department to process the waste.

Since the start of the project in March 2021, our customer EDF has already given us a great deal of positive feedback. The last unit at Paluel is scheduled for completion in 2024.
