Facilitating access to the world's biggest sporting event in 2024
With more than 15,000 Olympic athletes, 40,000 volunteers and 12 million spectators present during the Olympic events. Never before in the history of the Olympic Games has such an event attracted such a large number of spectators! Faced with such an exceptional number of spectators, hospitality is an essential element in providing the best possible spectator experience.
The Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (COJOP) called on Onet to provide reception services at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon, the Orange Vélodrome and the Marina in Marseille. We worked in close collaboration with the COJOP and its partners to design a made-to-measure reception system, constantly adjusted according to the number of visitors.
The versatility of Onet Reception teams to make the Games shine
During the 16 days of competition at the Olympic Games, Onet Reception was fully mobilized:
-Orientation and placement of spectator vehicles in the parking lots
- Distribution and checking of accreditations
- Pre-screening in collaboration with volunteers (visual inspection of tickets) with security agents in support
- Placement of spectators and coordination of volunteers in the stands
- Reception of VIP areas and hospitality
- Management of ticketing and resolution of disputes
The range of missions illustrates Onet's ability to provide complete and meticulous management of hospitality for international events.
Deployment of a hybrid system combining hospitality and security to provide the best possible experience for spectators:
A hybrid system has been deployed at the Olympic venues in Lyon and Marseille: Stade Orange Vélodrome, Marina de Marseille and Groupama Stadium. Guests atOnet Reception can count on the presence of Onet Security agents in high-risk areas, and this partnership guarantees a safe and welcoming experience for all participants.
These two professions are extremely complementary at sporting events, where the massive influx of people requires rigorous, responsive organization. Over the years, our teams have developed excellent coordination skills that help reduce the risks associated with crowd management.
Meticulous preparatory work boosted by the support of local and national support functions
To be as efficient as possible, a steering committee has been set up for each site to :
- Sizes and draws up schedules as closely as possible to requirements
- Recruits and trains new event hosts and hostesses
- Manages administrative formalities (contracts, accreditations, instructions, etc.)
- Supplies uniforms and equipment (magnetometers, gantries, X-ray tunnels, radios, etc.)
- Provides management tools (shift management, handbook, quality control, etc.)
This collaborative effort between management in the field and support functions in branches and at head office was essential if we were to be ready for D-day!
