Customer case study: Onet secures Elengy's sensitive sites
30 Onet Security agents work in shifts to guarantee the safety of the LNG terminals located in the heart of the industrial zone of the Port of Marseille-Fos.
On these Seveso high threshold sites, the surveillance perimeter is very wide, covering both land and sea areas.
Strategic LNG terminals for Elengy
These industrial sites supply all European markets with LNG liquefied natural gas. Every month, more than 20 LNG carriers unload their LNG cargoes at the docks of both sites.
These areas are only accessible with accreditation or clearance: 100 to 200 people pass through the terminals every day.
A permanent safety system with diversified missions
On a daily basis, Onet Security agents will :
- Control site access
- Screen site users by verifying authorizations, accreditations and work permits
- Check that vehicles passing through the sites comply with Elengy's regulations and procedures, especially tankers transporting LNG.
- Detect any object that could jeopardize the safety of the site by :
- palpation with a magnetometer (metal detector)
- under-vehicle checks with inspection mirrors
- explosives detection using a dedicated case
- Monitor the site perimeter by means of surveillance rounds (on foot or by car) and video surveillance.
Sensitive areas requiring increased surveillance
When LNG tankers stop over for a few days to unload their cargo, Onet Security agents check people and goods to prevent any malicious or illegal acts.
To prevent malicious acts, our agents carry out security checks at the Screening Inspection Point (search and palpation). Other types of checks on vehicles and people can be carried out using an explosives detection kit. Vehicle air analysis and particle analysis.
Close collaboration between private and public security operators
On a day-to-day basis, our agents work closely with a wide range of safety and security bodies, including the maritime gendarmerie, national and municipal police forces, customs services, fire departments and Marseille-Fos port security.
This coordination is essential, particularly in the event of intrusion by sea. Our agents keep a watchful eye on the area around our sites, carrying out both physical and video surveillance rounds. If an unauthorized person or boat is detected within the perimeter, the Gendarmerie Maritime intervenes.

All our agents have the Agent Chargé des Visites de Sûreté (ACVS) accreditation required to operate in restricted port areas.

MASE-certified management
The Vitrolles branch responsible for this service holds the MASE certification required for managing health, safety and environmental risks at LNG terminals.
To ensure compliance with the standards, a site manager oversees all services at both terminals, backed up by 4 station managers.
The private security company working for ELENGY has to meet stringent security requirements for its LNG terminals.
ELENGY must comply with international port security regulations, national regulations and directives, prefectural decrees, etc. ELENGY must be able to prove this to the Authorities at any time.
