UniHA-Onet Cleaning and Associated Services partnership renewed around a common priority: ensuring patient well-being

UniHA has once again chosen Onet Cleaning and Associated Services as the biocleaning service provider for its members. A real guarantee of trust and quality, reflected in two new 4-year framework agreements. Find out more about this major cooperative structure and the contribution of biocleaning services to hospital facilities.

UniHA and the hospital sector

A genuine public health issue, France's healthcare provision has evolved over the last few decades to adapt to new social issues. Hospitals have created specialized structures to refocus nursing staff on the well-being of patients, delegating ancillary tasks to specific structures.

UniHa unites the strengths of the hospital sector to respond to a profound transformation of our healthcare system, convinced that purchasing is one of the strategic levers for providing our fellow citizens with the best available treatment, delivering a high-quality hospital service and preserving equal access to care.

Who is UniHa?

Created in 2005 by hospital workers themselves: 32 university hospitals and 20 hospital centers, UniHA is now one of Europe's leading healthcare purchasers. With 1359 member establishments and 123 Groupements Hospitaliers de Territoire (GHT), the cooperative is developing an innovative and strategic approach to purchasing.

The aim is to assist members by proposing adapted offers and market management support functions, through the selection of service and product suppliers. How do we achieve this? By pooling purchasing, expertise and skills to improve economic performance, time and quality.

16 purchasing families cover the hospital's main needs. Each purchasing family is coordinated by teams of hospital-based buyers who act on behalf of the hospital community. The " General Services " family includes biocleaning services, for which Onet Cleaning and Associated Services has been selected.

In 2024, UniHA is revising its entire set of specifications to focus not only on hospital requirements, but also on the standards of cleaning companies. By including the cleaning index in the price revision formulas, these new framework agreements are part of the creation of long-term partnerships with the selected service providers.

The amended specifications also emphasize the importance of a concrete approach to corporate social and environmental responsibility, based on the standards of the Fédération des Entreprises de Propreté. Broken down into 18 commitments grouped into 3 themes, these are strong actions applied to the healthcare sector.

The place of biocleaning in the care offering

Controlling the cleanliness of premises is an essential link in ensuring the safety of the care provided. The role of the cleaning service in this environment is to limit cross-contamination by limiting contamination from patient to surface, and from surface to patient.

By using specific products and methods, bioneting considerably reduces the presence of pathogens, thereby reducing the risk of contamination for patients, visitors and users. It is a process that ensures both visual and microbiological cleanliness: via detersion to remove soiling, and disinfection to eliminate pathogens.

Improving Healthcare Worker Safety Protecting not only patients

Caregivers - doctors, nurses, technicians, etc. - are exposed on a daily basis to the same range of pathogens as patients, because they all work in the same environment. By reducing the microbial load inside hospital facilities, biocleaning helps to protect the health of medical staff as well as patients.

Role in the brand image and excellence of the establishment

The hospital's image in relation to the quality of its care and the welcoming aspect of its premises are criteria that weigh heavily in the economic equilibrium of each establishment.

The cleanliness of the care environment plays an intrinsic part in the quality of the care provided. In addition to ensuring the safety of the care environment, the patient experience today extends to the perception of this environment and its cleanliness, by all users, both visitors and carers. A safe, clean and welcoming environment is all the more important when patients are able to choose the facility in which they receive care. Similarly, a clean and safe working environment enhances the satisfaction and motivation of medical staff.

In conclusion, the biocleaning services provided by Onet Cleaning and Associated Services teams in hospitals represent much more than a simple cleaning activity. They contribute to the provision of a healthy working environment for staff, patients and visitors, to ensure the safety of all care provided.

Joining forces with organizations such asUniHA means building lasting partnerships to improve the quality of care, the well-being of patients and the safety of hospital environments.
