What is bionetting? What are its principles? And what is the role of the bi-cleaning agent?

Bionettoyage: definition

Used in sensitive sectors, bionetting is a method of maintaining premises that involves cleaning and disinfecting surfaces to control and limit contamination.

In practice, it is mainly used for cleaning medical establishments:

  • Hospital,
  • Clinical,
  • Medical practice,
  • Retirement home,
  • EHPAD,
  • Research laboratory.

It contributes to user comfort and the control of infectious risks.

Biocleaning agents must ensure that patients, visitors and healthcare staff enjoy a clean, pleasant environment, free from the risk of contamination by micro-organisms.

The principles of biocleaning

Steps in biocleaning to prevent the risk of contamination:

- from top to bottom,

- from cleanest to dirtiest,

- from bottom to front

As with cleaning, the effectiveness of bionetting is based on respect for the Sinner circle, which brings together 4 essential factors of equal importance:

  1. Temperature of water used for cleaning
  2. The contact time required for the product to take effect
  3. Chemistry: the very action of the product
  4. The mechanical action exerted on the surface.

These 4 components can be adjusted in different proportions, as in the case of steam biocleaning, which uses temperature instead of chemistry.

Cleaning products

Detergents and disinfectants have two different purposes.

Detergent action is based on the solution's ability to loosen dirt from a surface.

Disinfectants eliminate targeted micro-organisms. Disinfectants have varying degrees of effectiveness (bactericide, virucide, fungicide, sporicide, etc.), and are selected on the basis of an analysis and identification of the risks to be controlled and neutralized.

There are also "2-in-1" detergent-disinfectant products that clean and disinfect in a single pass.

In the hospital sector, premises are classified according to the risks identified, in 4 categories/zones:

  • Zone 1: minimal risk
  • Zone 2: moderate risk
  • Zone 3: severe risks
  • Zone 4: very high risk

The cleaning procedures and products used are chosen with these risks in mind.

Bionetting is an industrial cleaning technique with proven effectiveness. Players in this constantly evolving sector have to comply with a strict framework of legal requirements and best practices.
