EDF renews its confidence in Onet Technologies for 7 years of ACMPs at Blayais and Golfech
After 9 months of negotiations, the outcome of the AGRAPAL(1) tender is a gratifying recognition for the teams in the Operations and Training Department: through the quality of their work, they were able to persuade EDF to entrust Onet Technologies, for the 3rd consecutive time in 15 years, with the provision of Global Site Assistance Services (PGAC) at the Blayais and Golfech nuclear power plants(2).
The transition from the old PGAC contract to the new one took place on January 1, 2020. A PGAC comprises four lots: nuclear logistics associated with radiation protection, cleanliness associated with the provision of linen, management/distribution of tools in controlled areas, and means of access associated with lagging.
Adapting with agility to EDF's industrial policy
EDF's renewal of this contract called for innovative solutions to rekindle the desire to work together: PGAC was redesigned as PGAC Expansée ©, and a GMES(3) with 3 industrial groups was set up to carry out this new contract: Onet Technologies is the agent, and carries out the work packages corresponding to its traditional core business: nuclear logistics, radiation protection, nuclear waste management, materials handling and tool store management. This mobilizes between 100 and 300 people, depending on the site and the nuclear power plant's maintenance program. The "cleanliness and provision of linen" and "means of access and insulating materials" work packages have been entrusted within GMES to 2 co-contractors who are references in these fields.
" This GMES with 3 co-contracting companies is reassuring for EDF in terms of resources and skills to take on the workload plan and the challenges of the nuclear fleet over the next 7 years: i.e. controlling the duration of maintenance shutdowns and extending the lifespan of the power plants."
New perspectives for Operator Support
In addition to a full order book for the next 7 years, the renewal of this contract in the form of PGAC Expansée © opens up new horizons for the company.
" With 15 years' experience behind us, we intend to transpose all or part of this concept to other manufacturers who, like EDF, wish to remain focused on their core business. New prospects are currently taking shape for naval bases and the operation of experimental reactors," continues Thomas Naudin.
At the same time, a new consultation called SACROVAL is underway, covering the Nogent, Saint-Laurent and Saint-Alban cGMPs, where Onet Technologies is the incumbent, and the Chinon, Belleville and Cruas cGMPs, which represent opportunities. The outcome is expected next summer!
