[Infographic] How do the French perceive private security?

Private security is a fundamental concept for the French. This is one of the key findings of the survey conducted by Onet in partnership with Opinion Way*.

This survey reveals that 8 out of 10 French people are more confident if they notice the presence of security guards or cameras, but also that they are ready to give up an activity if they are not sure of their safety.

Convinced from the outset of the impact of our service professions on the safety, performance and well-being of all, our security company Onet places knowledge of the user at the heart of its approach.

The main results of this safety study

Safety is an important issue for the French. Indeed, 81% would not attend a sporting or cultural event if they were not sure of their safety (1/3 strongly agree).

The French also consider that security guards play an essential role in guaranteeing their safety (84%), and their presence increases confidence in the places they visit (82%), as does the presence of surveillance cameras (78%).

The overwhelming majority feel that the presence of security guards is important in most frequented places, especially in places where large numbers of people gather: airports and railway stations (95%), stadiums (92%) or outdoor events such as festivals or concerts (92%), but also in sensitive industries (92%). It should be noted that their presence is considered less important in the workplace (55%).

* Survey conducted in August 2022 with the Opinion Way research institute among a sample of 1,025 French people aged 18 and over, representative of the French population.
