Nuclear dismantling using laser cutting

With over ten years' experience in laser cutting, Onet Technologies provides its customers with unique technologies based on developments made by the CEA and years of R&D work:

Design of patented laser heads;
Integrated laser cutting system (mobile and robust) designed for industrial deployment on a nuclear site;
Associated safety systems to manage the specific risks induced by the laser (dust, residual energy, aerosols, etc).

The Marcoule Laser Technocenter

The Marcoule Laser Technocenter, opened in 2023, is dedicated to the testing and development of laser technology. The Technocentre serves as a laser test center, a showroom for our customers and an R&D center for advancing this technology.

Our references in nuclear decommissioning

UP1 plant

Presented as a world first by Onet Technologies in December 2015, laser technology demonstrated its full potential as part of the project to dismantle the UP1 dissolvers in the reprocessing facility for spent fuel installations at the CEA Marcoule site in France.

Fukushima Daiichi

Onet Technologies and CEA are developing scenarios and testing remote-controlled cutting and evacuation systems for the Control Rod Drive Housing (CRD-H) at the Fukushima Daiichi site in Japan.

Dismantling the heat exchangers at Chinon A3

The project to dismantle the Chinon A3 heat exchangers, an emblematic EDF DP2D site, involved dismantling, conditioning and evacuating all of the heat exchanger circuits in two rooms. The project was completed in February 2023, after ten years of intensive work.
