Non-destructive testing: a closer look at our methods
ACFM (Alternating Current Field Measurement) is a non-destructive inspection method for detecting and sizing fatigue cracks in all ferromagnetic metals (steel, stainless steel, bronze, titanium, aluminum, etc.). It can be used both in air and underwater, with no need for surface preparation.
Installation can be carried out manually or remotely using robots.
The ACFM inspection technique is based on the principles of electromagnetism. It is based on the measurement of variations in a magnetic field induced in a conductive material. Suitable for detecting open or underlying fatigue cracks, it can also be used in the presence of a coating.
The ACFM technique is suitable for controlling :
The advantages of ACFM control :
Ultrasonic testing is one of the most widely used volumetric non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, designed to detect any defects in industrial parts and structures during manufacture or maintenance operations.
Ultrasonic imaging techniques are based on the same principles as conventional ultrasound: a piezoelectric element emits an ultrasonic wave which propagates through the workpiece, reflecting off defects and enabling them to be detected.
- Multi-element ultrasound technology (PhasedArray) enables electronic control of the ultrasound beam (beam deflection and focusing), improving inspection performance and speed.
- The TOFD (Time Of Flight Diffraction) method is based on the detection and processing of ultrasonic signals diffracted by anomalies in the material of the part being tested.
The advantages of ultrasonic testing :
LYFT testing is a non-destructive testing method for detecting extensive thickness losses on piping or capacities, through coatings and thermal insulation.
LYFT is a technique based on high-performance pulsed eddy currents, enabling real-time C-scan mapping of corrosion through coatings, thick metal walls and lagging.
This technique enables rapid inspection of wall thicknesses, without removing the lagging or coating, and in places with variable geometries that are difficult to access.
The advantages of LYFT control :

Non-destructive testing: our technicians and agents talk about it
Aurélien is a non-destructive inspector at Onet Technologies, working on installations to ensure that the equipment inspected is not damaged, such as looking for cracks, the absence of corrosion or indications due to probing.
Nuclear power has always been interesting to me, and the activities are many and varied. I was looking for a job that would also allow me to travel and discover other working environments. The nuclear sector is an industry at the cutting edge of technology, which means we have to work rigorously.
In his job, Aurélien has to be rigorous and patient. It's a meticulous job, as he can look for indications of less than a millimeter. The specific nature of the working environment, with its radiation and/or contamination, requires him to take a more global view than that of his interventions, and vigilance is the watchword of his missions.
I like my job because of the variety of projects I get to work on. It's not a one-off job, the customer is different, the standards are different, and so are the techniques applied. You get to see a lot of things and gain a lot of experience. In non-destructive testing, our main customer is EDF, with a strong focus on nuclear power plants, but we also work for Naval Group and CEA. Our business is spread all over France. Right now, I'm on the Flamanville EPR site, checking welds. Our customers' main requirement is to implement specific intervention procedures to detect any anomalies that could jeopardize the proper operation and safety of basic nuclear installations. At Onet Technologies, our priority is to be able to respond to their requests by applying the most appropriate method, while guaranteeing the safety of our teams and the non-degradation of their installations.
