Ensuring the health safety of major events in times of pandemics. Back to the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters
As a partner of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters for over 10 years, the Onet Group, via its Monegasque subsidiary Emone, ensures the sanitary safety of this major tennis tournament on the Masters 1000 circuit. Over and above the prestigious nature of the tournament, the aim is to guarantee a maximum level of disinfection and cleanliness for all players, their teams and the organizers. Our expert event cleaning teams are trained in cleaning techniques for this particular context.
Onet, historic supplier to the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters
In a complex sanitary context, the Onet Group was able to adapt to organizational changes, and in the end it was behind closed doors that the 15 Onet employees cleaned and disinfected the entire site.
In a tournament such as the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, even behind closed doors, traffic is frequent and numerous. Active traffic zones have been identified with SMETT (Société Monégasque pour l'Exploitation du Tournoi de Tennis).
Each zone has its own level of cleaning and disinfection. In fact, depending on the needs and expectations of participants, certain zones could be activated thanks to the responsiveness of Onet teams
Aerial Surface Disinfection(ASD) by fogging, an innovation to guarantee the health safety of participants in the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
The challenge for Onet Propreté & Services teams at this type of event is to guarantee the sanitary protection of all participants, whether players, referees, linesmen, staff or organizers. Changing rooms, weight rooms, players' catering areas and the anti-doping control zone are all extremely sensitive areas, and require special attention.
The most sensitive and vulnerable area in terms of infection is the professional changing rooms. To ensure the sanitary safety of this sensitive area, Onet teams use aerial surface disinfection(ASD) by fogging.
This state-of-the-art nebulization method is particularly effective against all types of virus, including coronavirus, influenza and gastroenteritis. Mainly used on public transport systems, fog disinfection is just as effective on sites such as the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.
Barrier measures such as wearing a mask, regular hand-washing and physical distancing are essential, but not sufficient to fully protect individuals from the virus. During a pandemic, these measures must be complemented by the elimination of micro-organisms from inert surfaces (tables, benches, floors, support areas, etc.). Virus elimination requires the use of disinfection systems which, like the DSVA, are currently the only ones able to decontaminate over 99% of surfaces. It was for this reason that the Onet Cleaning and Associated Services teams immediately proposed this solution to SMETT, to enable them to run the tournament in the best possible sanitary conditions.
How does nebulizer disinfection work?
In concrete terms, the Onet Cleaning and Associated Services agent will; first of all, clean the area to be treated. This step is necessary before any disinfection phase to remove dust, dirt or grease from surfaces.
Once this stage has been completed, the air flows (ventilation, air conditioning, heating, etc.) are stopped and the windows, doors and air vents are caulked to isolate the changing room and prevent the gas from spreading outside the area to be treated.
The Onet Cleaning and Associated Services teams install and set up the nebulizer according to the volume of the changing room to be disinfected. The nebulizer then sprays a disinfectant (ALISTEYR) into the atmosphere, touching handles, floors, walls and the entire volume of the room.
The advantage of this fogging method is that it generates no deposits or films, and guarantees surface disinfection.
Players, coaches and other participants can return to their changing rooms within minutes of the disinfection phase.
SMETT again testifies this year:
"In an edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters 2021 that will have been one of the most special and delicate in its history, the ONET teams will have been able to adapt and meet the demands of the health protocols imposed by the pandemic with great professionalism. We sincerely thank them and are already counting on their teams for the 2022 edition!" Philippe Pollioperational manager of the SMETT
