Progress on the Chinon A3 exchanger dismantling project
The last large component (a 41T water/steam cylinder) was removed from the Chinon A3 dismantling site in April, with the participation of Mammoet, a company specializing in lifting and transporting heavy objects.

This is an important milestone for our customer, EDF DP2D, as the completion of the cutting of this water/steam drum will herald the end of the dismantling of the non-cylinder exchangers at Chinon A3.
This work began in November 2012 on the South interchange (with dismantling completed in May 2018), and continued with the dismantling of the North interchange begun in October 2018 (with the constraints of the COVID 19 health crisis starting in 2020).
The next stage will be to prepare for the removal of the 96 cylinders from the North exchanger (each weighing around 18T), with the first removal scheduled for the end of June 2022, and a completion milestone in January 2023. The withdrawal phase will finalize this project in the1st half of 2023.
