The calculations department of our Dismantling & Waste Division strengthens its expertise with Ansys Fluent

To meet the growing needs of our customers and optimize certain projects, our Dismantling & Waste Division's calculations department has just strengthened its expertise with a new key skill: mastery of Ansys Fluent for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) calculations. This skill was previously held exclusively by Onet Technologies' ventilation department. It is now fully in-house, to ensure the continuity of our know-how and increase the volume of calculations processed, including complex calculations, which were previously outsourced.

What is Ansys Fluent?

Ansys Fluent is a market-leading fluid simulation software known for its advanced physical modeling capabilities and state-of-the-art accuracy. It uses computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to simulate and analyze fluid motions and interactions with surfaces.

The adoption of Ansys Fluent represents a major asset for our Technical Department's calculations department. It enables us to meet our customers' needs by internalizing complex calculations, securing planning, and allowing iterations for modifications and optimizations.

This software is a benchmark for CFD calculations, enabling us to offer our customers recognized and reliable solutions. By meeting their expectations with state-of-the-art solutions, we are more precise and more efficient!

Ansys Fluent applications within our Onet Technologies teams

Ansys Fluent will now be used by the calculations department of our Decommissioning and Waste Management Division to carry out a range of projects requiring CFD calculations, including those for our DIMP platform, which brings together our nuclear engineering services team; and those carried out in collaboration with our partner newcleo, a specialist in SMRs.

In concrete terms, Ansys Fluent will be used to study steam generators, analyze pressure losses in piping, optimize air intake, improve local ventilation, and so on.

Onet Technologies' ventilation department has already carried out some simple calculations using this tool. Initial feedback has been positive, showing that the tool meets expectations in terms of accuracy and reliability!

Following a three-day training course given by an Ansys trainer in Pierrelatte, this will be supplemented by support from our in-house expert and our team in Marseille. Six members of our Onet Technologies teams, based in Marseille, Lyon and Pierrelatte, are now competent to use Ansys Fluent independently. In addition to enriching our expertise, the acquisition of this new skill has strengthened the synergy between our teams!

Developing our expertise, a priority for Onet Technologies

The integration of Ansys Fluent fits in perfectly with our strategy of diversifying skills and innovation. This new competence positions us well to meet our customers' future needs with innovative solutions.

Well done to the calculations department of the Dismantling and Waste Management Division for acquiring this skill, in addition to its expertise in time calculations!
