Onet Technologies wins an operating contract worth nearly €40 million for CEA Marcoule
Onet Technologies is proud to announce the signing of a new contract to operate the Célestin, RG1, G2 and G3 facilities at the CEA Marcoule center. This contract, won in a consortium with CIMAT and SNEF, is a great accolade for our company and marks a major step forward in our collaboration with the CEA.
A major contract for Onet Technologies
This nuclear facility operation contract, for an initial period of three years, with an option to extend for a further four years, began in June 2024. It represents one of the largest nuclear facility operation contracts won by Onet Technologies, with a value approaching 40 million euros. In this consortium, CIMAT will provide mechanical maintenance and SNEF will provide electrical maintenance.
This contract is part of the renewal of a number of operating contracts for CEA Marcoule facilities.
Our missions and challenges on the CEA Marcoules nuclear facility operating contract
Through its "RCI-OT" type contracts, such as the EIP contract which has lasted since 2016, the CEA delegates all operating tasks to Onet Technologies. This means that Onet Technologies has to deploy all the skills required to operate an INB (operation, PR surveillance, safety, security, quality).
On the Célestin, Réacteurs G1, G2 and G3 facilities in particular, our teams will be deployed to carry out the following tasks:
- Operating and monitoring installations, maintaining them in safe, operational conditions, and issuing work permits for companies working within the defined perimeters;
- Management of waste produced, radiation protection of installations, internal transport to installations;
- Optional refurbishment work . The expertise of our Dismantling and Waste Division's Technical and Industrial Department will be mobilized to oversee this work, guaranteeing an excellent technical response tailored to the needs of these facilities.
In addition, the CEA Marcoule reactor operating contract includes three main technical challenges for Onet Technologies:
- Team rigging and inbound reversibility: for our employees, this involves ensuring a smooth transition of operations between the former technical operator and the new GMEC, which implies rigorous traceability of knowledge transfer;
- Maintaining facilities in safe operating conditions (MCOS), in compliance with safety and radiation protection regulations on the one hand, and achieving the best possible facility availability rate on the other.
- Renovation work, including support for nuclear ventilation, fire protection and ECC .
Around twenty Onet Technologies employees will be involved in these firm share installations, spread over the Célestin and Reactors G1, G2 and G3 perimeters. Their expertise and commitment will guarantee our success in this ambitious mission!
The contract kick-off meeting, already held by the consortium, has already paved the way for the reversibility period. This step is essential to guarantee a smooth transition between the various parties, enabling our teams to take full control of the operation of the facilities, from the end of 2024.
With this new challenge, Onet Technologies is strengthening its position as a leader in the operation of nuclear facilities. Our employees are determined to support the CEA in its projects and to meet its challenges as effectively as possible, by providing the full range of their skills.
