Onet deploys a large-scale multi-trade event at Groupama Stadium and LDLC Arena
Eagle Football Group (formerly OL Groupe) has entrusted Onet with the reception and security of the Groupama Stadium and the LDLC Arena. Onet is deploying large-scale systems, mobilizing up to 600 reception and security agents at these Lyon event sites, which can accommodate a combined total of over 75,000 spectators.
Onet Security also supervised the installation of 215 AI-enabled video surveillance cameras, and manages the maintenance of the LDLC Arena's electronic security system. Take a behind-the-scenes look at Onet's flagship multi-trade event service.
Major event sites in France with major security challenges
Eagle Football Group owns the Groupama Stadium and recently sold the LDLC Arena to Holarena :
- Groupama Stadium is the 3rd largest stadium in France, with a capacity of over 59,000, and 2 million visitors a year. In addition to Olympique Lyonnais matches, Groupama Stadium is also the venue for major international sporting events, concerts and corporate events.
- The LDLC Arena is a sports and entertainment venue that can accommodate up to 16,000 people, making it the largest French Arena outside the Ile de France region. For 2024-2025, over 100 events are scheduled at the LDLC Arena, including concerts, sports competitions and shows, seminars, trade fairs...
The Groupama Stadium is a category X ERP building, while the LDLC Arena is a category E building, and the gathering of several thousand people is not without its safety risks (acts of malicious intent, damage, terrorist threats, crowd movements).
Integration and installation of 225 video surveillance cameras with integrated AI and maintenance of the electronic security system at the LDLC Arena
The LDLC Arena benefited from full support in the design and maintenance of the electronic security system:
- Selection of video surveillance cameras by the Onet Security design office to meet the specifications (technical features, integration of AI into cameras, cyber-security of data).
- Design the architecture, specifying the positioning of each camera and defining the AI functionalities to enhance site surveillance.
- Installation of 200 video-surveillance cameras and equipment for the Security and Event PC and connection to the Groupama Stadium servers byOnet Security technicians.
- Parameterization and calibration of each video surveillance camera model, ensuring the effectiveness of algorithmic detection: virtual line crossing detection, discriminatory search for persons or vehicles, people counting.

Smoothing and optimizing spectator flow at Groupama Stadium and LDLC Arena
Onet Reception supervises the spectator experience at Groupama Stadium and LDLC Arena. Visitors receive comprehensive support to ensure they have the best possible experience:
- Parking management to cope with the massive influx of spectators
- Orientation of spectators around the stadium
- Facilitate scanning of tickets at the electronic access control system in collaboration with agents Onet Security
- Spectator seating
- Facilitate the evacuation of spectators in collaboration with agents Onet Security
Guests at Onet Reception can count on the presence of Onet Security agents in high-risk areas (stadium access, stands). At the same time, Onet Reception manages parking for service providers and distributes accreditations. The reception system can mobilize over 400 guests Onet Reception.
Ensuring the safety of spectators in grandstands and VIP areas
Eagle Football Group has entrusted Onet with filtering and surveillance services in various strategic areas of the Groupama Stadium and the LDLC Arena:
- Entrances to the west and south stands of Groupama Stadium in partnership with the guests Onet Reception
- VIP and hospitality areas at Groupama Stadium (Président Box, Paul BOCUSE brasserie, Club des 100) and LDLC Arena
- Groupama Stadium's west and south stands, with a stronger presence on the south bend for certain Olympique Lyonnais fan groups.
- Groupama Stadium pitch surrounds to prevent any intrusion or projectile throwing (Plexiglas shields installed at corners).
- Groupama Stadium's sports area, which includes the changing rooms, the access corridor to the playing area and the mixed zone. This area, which is accessible to journalists, requires our agents to check each journalist's accreditation.
Onet deploys security systems that can mobilize more than 275 agents to monitor the 2 sites. In addition to these screening and surveillance missions, Onet provides close protection for OL players and staff during away matches, training sessions, signing sessions, etc.
Guarantee optimal operational management:
A meticulous organization is put in place for each event to supervise the hosts placed in each zone. The service is managed by Vanessa Malisz Leheux, operations manager Onet Reception, Cyril Lombardo, general coordinator (CG) and David Guigard, general coordinator.
On the big day, our customer brings the GCs together for a briefing to detail the organization of the system. The GCs ensure that the customer's instructions are carried out during the event. They are accompanied by two deputy general coordinators (CGA) to supervise the grandstand and parking areas in particular.
The CGAs are responsible for relaying the information to local staff, who brief the hosts directly in the field. In all, more than twenty coordinators can be mobilized, depending on the scale of the event. At every level of the organization, briefings are given to ensure that all our staff are fully operational in all circumstances.
During the event, all coordinators (CG/CGA/local coordinators) can communicate via walkie-talkies. In the event of an incident, the host(s) can inform their coordinator, who will relay the information directly to the appropriate contact.
The coordinators are experienced and have in-depth knowledge of the stadium's architecture. They are essential to the smooth running of the service.
