Our customers appreciate our integrated offer combining human excellence and technology.

Fabienne Pillet, General Manager Onet Security and Onet Reception was interviewed by Protection Sécurité teams for the September / October 2022 issue of the magazine.

Before joining the Onet Group at the end of March 2022, what business sectors did you work in? What image did you have of the world of private security?

An engineer by training, my background is in new technologies and communications. I've worked on projects linked to artificial intelligence, digital, the Internet of Things, video and cyber. I also have experience in the service sector. Like many of our fellow citizens, all I knew of the world of security was the agents you come across in supermarkets. I discovered a highly regulated world, where companies - like Onet - have mastered cutting-edge technologies and boast high-quality expertise.

interview Fabienne Pillet

The Onet Group and its Chairman, Émilie de Lombarès, have entrusted you with the task of developing the Group's business with new customers and supporting the transformation of its business lines. Can you tell us more?

Onet is a very active group, which devotes a great deal of effort to developing and integrating new technologies, creating new service offerings, and helping to train and upskill its agents... All this contributes to making Onet a player capable of offering much more than just human surveillance services. What our customers appreciate about Onet is our ability to offer them an integrated package, combining cutting-edge, innovative technologies and security agents. At a fair price. It's our expertise that makes the difference, and our ability to ensure that our agents and their supervisors are empowered. We are responsible for our customers and the quality of our services. We mustn't forget that our business is a service business. It's by respecting these principles that we'll be able to conquer new markets.

You just mentioned the price of services and the quality of the service provided. And that means training. That's often where the problem lies in the security sector: the logic of the lowest bidder and the poor training of certain agents. How can Onet do things differently?

We need to work hard to make our professions more attractive. All security groups are finding it hard to recruit. By combining technology with qualified personnel, Onet hopes to attract new employees interested in the innovative aspect of the business. As far as the price of security services is concerned, our customers need to understand that every quality service comes at a price, and that it requires expertise and support. We can't expect a company like Onet to invest in training its staff without being willing to pay for it. We mustn't accept just any deal, in the name of a purely pricing rationale. Onet has proven expertise, many years of experience and a relationship of trust with numerous customers with the most stringent requirements (Bercy, Euro Tunnel, Marseille Velodrome Stadium, etc.). These elements are all part of the value that Onet Security brings to the market.

Which of the new technologies do you see as the most promising?

The group is very active in terms of monitoring and innovation. It is currently developing its own ground robot. Drone surveillance is another avenue we're exploring to complete our integrated offering. AI is revolutionizing our business. Connected objects are also very promising, but require the deployment of networks capable of handling the volumes of data exchanged. And let's not forget everything to do with cyber issues and infrastructure protection. These are all areas in which Onet will continue to invest in the coming years.
