Onet Cleaning and Associated Services A Committed Partner Dedicated to Creating an Exemplary Living Environment in the Lyon Metropolitan Area

With Onet Cleaning and Associated Services, the Lyon Metropolitan Area benefits from a comprehensive, well-structured, efficient, and environmentally conscious cleaning program. This program is designed to sustainably improve residents’ quality of life and meet the needs of a constantly evolving region.

The Onet Cleaning and Associated Services Métropole branch, led by Florian Rebaud, employs 130 workers specializing in street cleaning as part of the GGN (Comprehensive Cleaning Management) contract for the Mermoz neighborhood in Lyon.

A demanding task that relies on precise coordination

The Metropolis’s expectations go far beyond mere technical execution. They aim to ensure that the service directly contributes to the well-being of residents.

This requires an agile organization capable of constantly adapting its interventions to on-the-ground needs.

“Comprehensive cleaning management has been quite successful at so-called complex sites. What makes all the difference is the coordination of teams in the morning, the assessment of needs, and ensuring that cleaning tasks are carried out in the right place at the right time—which allows us to optimize and streamline operations, resulting in quite exceptional results in this type of sector.”

A close relationship with local businesses and residents

The quality of service also depends on a daily presence in the community and ongoing dialogue with residents. Community outreach workers play a key role in this process.

“Today, we have established a true partnership, thanks in large part to the work of our community-based supervisors. This allows us to take action in the right place at the right time, based not only on feedback from local residents but also on information provided by our staff.”

"Starting at 6:30 a.m., the team leader arrives at the GGN sector in Mermoz and assesses the cleanliness level as well as the need for action. Then, at the team leader’s request, the staff members carry out their duties in specific sectors."

Two complementary approaches

To ensure a high level of cleanliness, two types of measures are implemented simultaneously:

  • Mechanized cleaning, performed using a sweeper.
  • Manual cleaning, performed by staff members.

Their cart includes a shovel, a broom, and tongs for picking up trash (cans, litter, etc.), as well as a rake and a hoe. The broom is used for finishing touches, particularly in gutters. Leaf blowers are used, especially for collecting leaves. A vacuum-shredder also allows them to work efficiently near bakeries or outdoor seating areas while causing as little disruption as possible to business operations.
